anyone know a chronological frame order for quadangles, like the ripper thread that was on here a while back? Ive seen some steel quad frames , one with a ripper chainstay brake mount, andone with canti mounts on the rear - are these 90's pre alloy quads?
Just wondering what quad frames and metals were issued when... any help appreciated!
im not 100% sure on the exact dates but
from what i have discovered myself.
looptail quads were built 79-late 82
the 2nd gen (with the normal quad chainstay) were oct 82-84 i think.
these were Reynolds frames except for the first few which were cro mo
(using materials up from the looptails)
in 84 the frame changes slightly and the top tube extended past the seat tube.
this style was all cro mo.
the serial numbers
month-year-production number
IE mine is 10 (oct) 82 (1982) 0013 (thirteenth of the run)
