SO WHO'S GOING TO BE RACING FOR THE FIRST TIME AT MK07??

i was just wondering am i going to be
the only one racing for the first time in 22yrs
i have not been on a race track competatively since i was 14.
i really don't like the idea of pedaling round like im cogying miss daisy
while everyone flies past like they've got an engine fitted

I had my first time on a track ever (never raced or even went on a track BITD) was at MK06, now I fooking love it.

I soooooo wished I got into racing when I was younger. To me it was the boring stuff at the back of the BMX mags.

my first time ever was at bulwell  earlier this year,the buzz you get on the gate is fantastic.

You just cant beat the buzz you get from racing, back in the 80s the buzz was pure adrenalin, nowdays its a mix of adrenalin and fear. Once youve tried it, you will wanna keep doing it. My first race in 20+ years was MK06, I fell off in my first race and didnt wanna get up again, but you overcome the fear and get back on. I have now had over 10 competitive races since last august and I love it, cant get enough of it now.......

Advice is, try and ride your bike a few hours a week, and race within your limits, its no good being quick if you cant stay upright. Better to come last on two wheels than come last limping back to the finish line..

Don't worry bud, I reckon just ride within your own ability. MK06 was my first bash and I finished sh*t last in 3 of the 4 motos (see note below) but I still had a buzz from the excitement.

Note: I reckon the old school class would be the best to enter. Last year I entered 'run what you brung' (basically anthing not classed as old school) and was wobbling against the likes of the Flying Fox and some proper MK team riders and I was left eating dust. However in the last moto, a guys chain come off so finished 6th out of 7 riders....result

Just enjoy the experience, it's great

I had my first race last year at MK.  I was proper nervous and was drawn in lane one, the lane I didnt want.  I went flying out the gate and stacked on the first set of whoops I felt like a right plum, but I got up and dusted myself down and carried on. 
Now I cant get enough and would go racing every Sunday if I could.  Just take it easy to start with and ride as fast as you can but within your limits.  Once you know the track you can push yourself harder each race.  Most people who have tried it keep coming back for more.

I only ever raced once at Birmingham wheels because of lack of funds/ interest from the old man. I crashed and ended up being strechered off to a load of applause. I was only winded though and came last in the restart. Can't wait to have another bash on the bike I wanted BITD. See you all there!!!!!!!!
