HELP ! RUST SPOTS ON MY FRAME.......
« on: May 06, 2007, 10:39 AM »
What's the best way of getting them off ? Have tried to use PEEK which makes the Chrome look nice but doesn't seem to shift the speckles of rust...Will I be able to remove these by hand or do I need a professional ?

Thanks for reading.

Ive found an alloy wheel polishing kit which i reckon would be superb for polishing your frame and it's nooks and crannies.

It just fits on to your drill

Strip yer frame down and i reckon that would be a really easy way to get a good finish .

Maybe a little very fine grade wire wool but NEVER EVER use a wire brush unless you want cause permanent damage to the chrome  ;)

Better to crash and burn than fade away

even wire wool isnt a good idea as it leaves mild steel rubbed on yer chrome which then oxidises n looks like rust is spredin !!!!!!!!!!!!!! get auto sol n an old cotton t shirt rip into 3 inch wide stripps n then use as a lace to polish the spots n give the chrome a nice finish
be carefull not to do to much n polish through the chrome
