OLD SCHOOL ACTION
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:42 AM »
I've posted varies OLD SCHOOL PIC'S OF ME & MY MATES from bitd, here's a few more.

The last picture takes me right back, we dragged half a building site a mile to a little track that was banked on both sides. Even in the rain we're riding it :-X, well for a couple of days before a concerned neighbour smashed it to bits!!  :'(

Wow - love those pics with the skip in the background, classic.... Yeah...making ramps from old building yards was a laugh...our ramps would fall apart while in mid air...end up w/ no landing ramp.  :uglystupid2:

I know the ol TRM was a bit weird looking (thats why I don't want to re-build one) but man it really to a beating by me then at least 5 other careful owners :-\ it never broke or bent & was pretty cheap. I might be wrong but think it cost my ma around £110.00 bitd. That was 83 & the Haro was £150 then?

The skip does add a little authenticity to the image, we paid a lot of attention to framing the image ??? ;D

For the life of me I can't remember what type of wheel that was ??? Probably swapped it with some kid. It was like SWAP SHOP round our way.

The bikes never stayed the same for long, bits getting swapped or painted or dyed or broken.............they don't make um like they used to ;D

We were jumping into a pile of gravel!! From a small ramp about waist height. It was great, like an early foam pit were you could try all sorts. Infact think I was one of the first kids to attempt a front flip :-\, when the ramp collasped

Here's another pic, check out my mate watching in bottom corner 8) (no he wasn't a miget it was that high)

great pics
the front end of the trm was really strong, due to it's shape
it was the plate that the seat tube went through that would let go!

love the ghetto ramps though.  quarterpipes made from bent sheets on grass banks. them were the days!
