Hersden April 29th - some directions
« on: April 11, 2007, 11:35 AM »
heres the info from TKthe mic

we open registration at 10 ish and we close at 12.30 on the dot

Race fees are £2.50

directions to track - or there abouts  :daumenhoch:

heres a link to streetmap showing the turning you need off the A28 -- the sycamor

straight up that road you'll see a kids playground & the track is behind that

once you get to the playground follow the track around to the left and toward the football fields
then you find it goes sharp right and your there

streetmap link for Hersden near Canterbury

streetmap link - click to view

best bet to get down there is thro tunnel head east on A2 / M2
not forgetting to salute Buckmore park as you go by

at the other end of the M2 you can take either the A2 and then A28 - long winding and thro Canterbury
or best route is straight on taking the  A299 to Herne Bay turning

then take effective 3rd exit of the roundabout for the A291 - a nice country drive

at the other end of A291 you should be at the level crossing and looking at the A28
turn left here and keep going

you'll see a new build housing area and a mini roundabout - straight over that
then on the right is a car sales place with a trractor on a pole -- your pretty much there now

sure others may have better descriptions but that'll get ya started

for satnav users nearest postcode is     CT3 4HX

You're almost right Kev but as I was down there tonight (secret practice session with my personal trainers) I can correct a small anomoly.  The roundabout is just after the tractor/car place and The Sycamores is on your left about 100yds after the mini roundabout.  Straight to the end of the small road and you'll see a playground.  Turn left across the front of the park, through the gates and around the back of the Youth Club.  You'll find it - no probs.  Humps
