Old and New Slam bars
« on: March 08, 2007, 07:55 PM »
I took a couple of pics of some Slam bars I have. One pair is the old, square ones with a higher cross bar, the other is the newer (94 onwards ish) rounder, lower cross bar ones. Thought it might interest some people.

I really liked thoes Lum-bars, I had a couple of sets. They are quite a bit smaller than Slams. I think Lumbars were closer to the Smal bars (aka smal slams) they do now

S&M have started doing butted, heat treated slams (still US made) that are lighter than the old ones.

i had the early ones too, but they got replaced for the smaller model in AUGUST 93, when i was in the us.

fyi slams then varied in upsweep/backsweep to the more modern slam bars.

nice super g sticker too, im sure i had a few of those somewhere...

Resurrecting an older topic I know but finally dragged some bars out of storage.

Here are the early Slam bars I told you about Alex, different shape to the ones already posted, plus a pair of genuine VDC Woody Allen, sorry Itson, bars just for reference as I reckon they set the standard for bars up to the present day with 0.65 tubing and a shape that's almost identical to the earlier Slams originally posted above.
