Help from you people in the know
« on: April 21, 2007, 09:41 AM »
Hello there. Just starting my first build from scratch on an Aero Reflex. I had to get one of these as i love the shape and the price was good as you'll most probably know. So, i've got the frame and forks, i've ordered a couple of pairs of tuff 2's from Ginny's (thought i may aswell get a an extra pair while i was at it instead of ordering again a few months down the line). The bits i'm not too sure about are the bottom bracket, which needs to be chrome or shiny metal (to fit a 1 piece crank - advice also please) and a headset to be chrome too. As soon as i've got these bits sorted i can sort out a stem and bars and the rest of it (i've already sorted a brake set and tyres). So what i'm basically asking for is advice on which ones to look at (bottom bracket and headset). I thank you in advance for any help. Much appreciated :)

If you've got any mint type stuff you think i might want to but from you, let me know. Cheeers :daumenhoch:

Hi Baz, ok for bottom bracket and headset, this is what I used for my Reflex as this was my first build as well:

Headset:

BB:
http://www.alansbmx.com/product_info.php?cPath=116_121&products_id=2293

Have a think about getting a headlock to tighten things up: http://www.alansbmx.com/product_info.php?cPath=116_122&products_id=1125

Hope this helps and good luck with the build :daumenhoch:

Paul :)

DO NOT BUY A CRANK FROM HALFORDS!!!!!!!!!!

Them DB ones look shite on OS bikes

Spend some dough and get a Tioga Task Force or Sugino or something

Ask in wanted, there are loads of nice OS ones used for pence!

Try Vert Ego or Alans BMX websites for old school goodies :daumenhoch: As ORB suggested Sugino or Tioga :)
