Dan, what's the secret?

I picked up a yellow Z-Rim to go with a build I'm doing but it really is yellow rather than the goldie "yellow" one I had bitd.  I tried bleaching then dying but it came out the same colour in fact the dye didn't touch it, mind you did the same to my yellow tuffs but think they need to be done twice because they were nearly white rather than yellow when I got them and after an overnight soak they are still not an even colour - some faded bits still there  ::).

:LolLolLolLol:  I used about 5kgs of salt and 4 Dylon Golden Glow dye packs to do twowheels and one rim in one go, piping hot water too although couldn't keep it simmering but what I did was soak them in boiling water for about 30mins before adding the dye and the salt.  The Z-rim looks no different but my Tuffs look much better, going to try again next week to see how they come out.

:LolLolLolLol:  Dylon Multi Purpose Dye - that I am sure of  :LolLolLolLol:  I think I had too much salt to be honest, to give you an idea of what my tuffs looked before.... they weren't really looking very yellow  :LolLolLolLol:

I'll post up some more pics once I've re-done them  :daumenhoch:

some people have soaked them for many days

little tins of dye , not the packets

heat and salt. I would also wet and dry them before dying as the tuffs will have oxidized a bit so allow the dye to penetrate this could be removed
