ive read a thread somewhere about it but cant find it now
who's done it?
whats the correct bleach to water ratio?
how long do they stay submerged?

I thought the bleaching bit was in there

I did read that you use as much cheap bleach (supermarket own brand) and a small about of water as you need to submerge the wheels and leave them for a few days, stirring it every now and then. Grease the hubs up as if they are alloy the bleach will blacken them, don't worry if they are chrome as you can wirewool them. Romblerk should be able to confirm, he's the master of Tuff restoration

give them a good clean first use domestos pour it on neat leave it overnight , then turn them over and do the same coat them big time if theyve got alloy hubs grease them wash it off and examine your work , if there any dirt left pour more bleach on the dirty bits

if you leave em in soak for say a week, a slime forms on em....this is good, when this slippery goo is there its time to take em out and jet wash the fookers....

iv just got a set that were just a little grubby , gave em a quick scrubb with cif n a scrubbin brush look real nice now

Just make sure if they have an alloy hub you protect it as the bleach will eat it away, it did on one of mine

heres a ally hubbed one i had sat in bleach for over a week, didnt protect the hub at all, it never ate it away, just turned it black, so just polished it when it came out with some peek

I've just had a Tuff II front wheel in bleach for 4 days and it is looking pretty good but I had to take it out early as I have chucked a set of Z-Rims into my big bucket of bleach. Once the Z-Rims are sorted I will be chucking a pair of OGK GT Performer mags in, then my Skyway will be going back in. I have question about bleaching, though.

When the wheels came out of the bleach they were a bit chalky (Apparently, something to do with the bleach affecting the PH of the nylon) , how do you get rid of that residue? Some people reckon spraying the wheels with WD40 will sort it but will that not discolour my just-bleached wheels?

Has anyone bleached a set of Z-Rims before? They have sat in the (neat) bleach for 4 days and they don't look any different to when I threw them in. I'm going to give them a week and hit them with a jet washer.

Any one got a rear white tuff II for sale? I bought a pair of them a while back but the rear wasn't up to scratch so it went the journey...

But has anyone tried bleaching a different colour tuff ?! Whats the result $:-\$

I only ask cos I have a real old set of discoloured tuffs & after a week in the blue dye, they still looked discoloured.

Some great white tuff resto's fella's. Nice work

Leave them in neat bleach for as long as necessary and scrub them daily with cream cleanser (Cif) before returning them back to the drink. Not sure about the chalky residue though ... I never got any of that

Patience is the answer and before you know it they'll look like this
