 I must've spent over 20 hours on those wheels and managed to get 75%  a chrome like finish ,using wire drill attachments , assorted polishing heads and lots of wet and dry .But the rest of the more intricate areas were nigh on impossible to get the same as . :(
If you get any of these wheels you'll see the oxidisation on them is just soul destroying to remove,and I wouldn't advise  you to try something more harsh .
In the end I ended up spending £40 on some special hard wearing spray paint from Germany . It's done a great job though  :)

and I know he's got a Supergoose 3 wasting away in his cellar and he wont part with it, poor bike hasn't seen the light of day for about 20 years  :'(
