Painting over anno
« on: March 29, 2007, 03:41 PM »
Hey guys.  I've a set of dia-compe calipers (1020, 890) here. Both are black and showing the signs of age. I want to tart them up to go onto my chrome Leary turb'. What is the best paint, coating to use for the job. Plus will paint hold ok onto the anno once i've given them a quick keying in? Many thanx in advance peeps  :daumenhoch:    G.

hi gav if they are in good condition just key them up with about 400-500 then give them a coat of etch primer, then a couple of coats of primer, then either use a scotch bright wet or 1000-1200 wet n dry then a few coats of black 2 pac is best but rattle cans will work its just not as hard wearing  :daumenhoch:

Hammerite seems like the easier option then. Aerosol?  ???  Does it leave a nice knock resistant coat? Then again the finish should never be knocked anyhow  ;)
