now i see a lot of you giving out big bucks on pads. I do not have pads on any of my builds. i can't stand them. Am i alone in this or is there a secret pad hating society?

I like them on rippers, the top tubes look too skinny without them from above.

Other than that the only reason I've ever had them is because until about 2 years ago you had to have them on to race.

When I was a kid I had fluffy ones, they were cool. the coolest ones I ever had were Zeronine ones, but I only ever put them on when I raced even back then.

I always used to ride "freestyle" with a set of pads. Well, a frame pad cos I couldnt fit the stem pad on with a pots mod and a gyro (without titting about) and I used to use knee saves so the handle bar pad was out too. I was in the shed yesterday and thought about putting a frame pad on my current rider (which is fairly new school). Its pretty much all black so a dash of colour might be nice.

I put pads on my builds to make them Authentic to the time they left the shop,if the pads are rare and complete my build to the spec i require then i'll pay what i feel they are worth to me,which might be big money to other people  :daumenhoch:

Yep, I took them straight off BITD too. Now however, i'm thinking more of my testicles should I accidentally land on the top tube whilst trying out a trick I haven't done for the last twenty years or so...   :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
