Would a 16t rear sproket and a 39t front sproket be a big dissadvantage on a park bike where speed isn't important. I'm trying to go with a smaller front sproket the cheapest way possible and it seems to be working out a lot more expensive than I hoped it would be.

theoretically its ok. i ran 39 /16 on my rickman and it got up to speed quicker, but at top end, you would have to pedal a lot more.

i wouldn't go any lower than 42-16, even for riding in a skatepark

i run 20-10 on my flatland bike though!

Must admit got to agree with the Ruler I had 42 / 16 on my park bike right through the 90's and that was just right, you'd spin yer guts out on 39 / 16 could you do 39 / 15?
Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!
