Just got one of these and BB cups are not NOS could anybody on here make me some? Or does anybody know where I could get some? Should be able to source new bearings myself but if anybody knows where I could get them cheap aswell?

 

Fingers worn to a crisp now !!! Loads of fine filing, bit of punch work, various wet and dry, good polish, hey presto. :smitten:
Not perfect but it is a suvivor. ;D ;D

Are they repearable? I had some techmatic cups in alloy, chipped, dented and a bit crap, I sanded them down and polished them, came up superb.

They will clean up mate, I mounted mine on a bench grinder shaft, and sanded them while they spun, quite easy really, took about an hour.

What do you mean they were good quality back in the day, you can tell by the bearings, they are similar to the bearings used in an aerospeed.

I may be able to get some of those made, a friend of mine could make some, but he would need one to copy, thing is he does it in hiis spare time, so as long as your in no hurry  ::)

As for the bearings, you should not have a problem getting these.

Thanks for the offer, will bear it in mind, but now I have spent so long on the renovation, may stick with them and see how i go. If I need some help in the future I will give you a shout.
