Sealed Headset Bearings
« on: March 13, 2007, 01:05 PM »
Just bought a Standard via eBay. The seller kindly included the sealed bearings on the BB & headset. Trouble is, I've never used one before.
The lower race looks like it'll just accept the curved flange (couldn't resist using that word) at the bottom of the forktube. The top one, I'm not so sure of.
Will the top part of my existing Aheadset  (an FSA Pig, I think) fit the Pig Pro, or would it be easier & cheaper to just transfer the loose-ball stuff over and not use the sealed set?

Is it? Not seen one up close to compare.
The cups are just like a regular headset, maybe a little smaller in the case of the top cup, the only difference are the bearings themselves.

Here's a shot from the auction itself:

Item No. 280087651511 if you fancy a look.

Cool, then the stuff I've got should slot straight in.
Hate it when a job's held up because of something like that.

The cups for the Pig Pro (sealed) and Pig (loose-ball) are different, had the same problem myself recently.  IMHO the Pig is the better headset.
