I voted for PK Ripper, even though I have never had one or wanted one. For me though it is one of the most beautiful frame and forks ever made, and you could never mistake any other frame for it.

As for the Burner, again I never had one, but that was probably because I missed the whole Burner thing as I was living in the US when BMX started over here and by the time I returned to the UK I had already started racing so a Burner was never an option. Thing is with the lower end Burners I look at them and every angle is wrong. I like the Aero Burner though

I love Performer's...

But a Mk1 Burner is still the most iconic in the UK IMO.

Deffo Burner.Although i always liked the supergoose 3 and was well chuffed when i got one.I hadn't heard of rippers ,but then again i didn't race.

Rippers were the dream bikes of the day .. Thankfully i never had to suffer a burner, First BMX was a puch murray which was bought from a car showroom

but it was prolly just as shit as the burner was..
I don't even think the burner was out when i had my first bmx $:-\$

burner for me as well im afraid

and i think the ratios are pretty accurate as well rippers and tas were aspirational but when i think of they day burners is what i remember

Its a tricky one, yeah the burner is the most well know because they were cheap and alot of people had them. So is a ford focus but i would not call one of them iconic $:-\$ $:-\$

i cant , when i think of what else was around then it was a nice bike , i had an alien out of a catalogue POS my mate had a yamaha BYZ (fookin quality bike) peugeot black lions never seen one since and my other mate had a tuff burner, six month later we started to see better bikes ie mongooses even silverfoxes but the tuff looked rad

You know I'm going to play devils advocate here and say none of those are the most Iconic. I think the Raleigh Grifter was the most iconic. Ok it wasn't a true BMX, but how many of us started out on one of those and rode it the way we would end up riding our bmx's a few years later. I would say it was raleighs first attempt at making a BMX.

Definately not the most wanted but gotta be the most iconic countrywide. I assume you aren't referring to just bmx'rs? If you asked anyone other than a bmx'r the name of a bike, they'd probably come back with 'burner' !?!?

anybody that got a burner at the time would have been over the moon with it bad angles or not.
who looked at such things as a kid.

as for the ripper.
yes now it is an icon but at the time i can remember everyone going on about how bad they were cause they broke lol.

mind never stopped me having one now lol.

Have to agree it would be the Skyway TA and well excited that they are bringing out a 25th anniversary model, got my name on that waiting list but I won't hold my breath.

Where is the DB Silver Streak on that list or the best bike made in the 80's, the Harry Leary Turbo.

I had a Yamaha BYZ, I loved that bike, I really need to get hold of one. Here is a picture of me on my Yamaha (complete with Kuwi stickersand Skyway padset) racing in 82 at Southampton.

Please note the absolutely MASSIVE race helmet. I was such a fashion icon.
