Is the standard size for a new school seat post clamp 26.8mm?
I don't have a tape measure to hand but that would seem to be about right??
Cheers and sorry for the stupid question

Hi pickle, are you sure it's not 28.6mm as opposed to 26.8mm?
I've a profile slim jim here, and I think it came in two sizes - 28.6mm for a 25.4mm seatpost, 31.8mm for an aluminium frame with a 26.6mm or 26.8mm seatpost.
Brian.
