hi guys was just wondering if its a big kob switching from a one piece crank to a 3 piece crank ???.....are do i just take out the cups & slide the sealed bearings in ???...cheers dave...

just take out all the hardware, cups and all ,then refit new.

you can get loose ball BB's for 3 piece, and you don't need a hammer! usually 28tpi instead of 24tpi for 1 piece.

if your taking out cups always use a rubber mallet as it takes the shock out of the strike, then give it some :knuppel2:

its not a massive job but can be tricky,getting the cups out is easy but sometimes getting the sealed cups in can be difficult at times make your own cup press from 14mm studding nuts big washers wooden blocks with 14mm  holes in (to protect the cups ) simply tighten the nuts to press the cups into the bb (grease the bb before you insert them ) it will help if you need to remove them
