Bearing cup removal GT vertigo 96/97
« on: March 04, 2007, 04:42 PM »
Pretty much tried everything, hit it stupidly hard and both bearing cups (head set/bottom bracket) simply will not budge... :-\

Everthing is pretty much ready to stick toghether and ride....and it gonna look skill! :D

Noticed when I took the Diacompe levers off there seemed to be some sort of glue type substance underneath could this be the case? Do GT bikes like supergluing bits onto the feames?

Are there any special magical words that I should be chanting when trying this procedure, apart from the usual effing and blinding?

And has anyone got any decals/scans for the GT Vertigo 1990 onwards? upto 1997?

Peace :)

Before I removed the BB cups from my 84 Sport, I soaked them in WD40 for about a week. They had been in there since 84.

I have never heard of BB cups being glued in, but you never know  :idiot2:
