someone on rad with an unpickled brain!

Don't encourage him Ratty, he'll be insufferable with compliments like that!!  Reckon his brain has been regenerated after giving up the ciggies (you're still off them are you Paul??)  This whole "series" thing has potential.  Humps

PS:  Can I book last place in the Series now or do I have to actually ride and lose to get that honour??

Hi
I raced reginals all last year with no licence as a novice, so cant see that being a problem for you guys, i will have to get a licence as racing 30+ new school this year, will also race in old school where possible and fitness allows. Started drinking low carbohydrate beer.
As for renting a track and holding events, lots involved at 'nam' we have to register events with british cycling, the council also have to be informed and if we wish to play amplified music we have to apply and pay for an TENS licence, oh and dont forget first aid with the oxygen.
Up for it though, Id say piggy back is the way to go.

I'd be up for a south east summer series. Although sundays would be preferable as I often have to work late during term time.

Have no problem with a few of you guys piggy backing any MK round, but as has already been mentioned you would have to race as novices.

You would also have to buy lots of raffel tickets and my tea all day :LolLolLolLol:

"late 40s"

I like to think "VERY late 40s" Ratty and if they ever run a class for over "55s" I'm definitely qualified!!  :LolLolLolLol:  I'm in as long as you accept the mid-skool HAWK as an OK ride.  Humps

Hey Guys,

Just checked in and was thinking it would be great if we had an old skool class/gate at the two inter regionals at Hayes and MK this year and you would be more than welcome at the Aug 19th Hayes race too which also has a Country Park Festival the same as last year with bouncy castles etc for the kids.So could be a fun day for all the family.

You never know we might even have our new concrete skatepark in by then ?????

Also why not have a show and shine at the Inter regionals...

Round 1- Spring Classic - Braintree -       April 1st
Round 2- Inter Regional (South) Hayes   8th April
Round 3- Hersden Summer Series -        29th April
Round 4- Royston                                   13th May
Round 5-  Milton Keynes                         20th May
Round 6- Hersden  Saturday                    9th June
Round 7 - Braintree                                 24th June
Round 8- Norwich                                    8th July  (need to discuss, long journey, long hard track!!)(Can we get a closer track?)
Round 9- Dagenham                                22nd July
RADBMX old school M K             5th August  (Not in series)
Round 10- Hayes                                     Aug 19th

Me and 796 have picked these dates and tracks from QuadPauls list, Any comments? Any committee members from Hersden, royston or Norwich who can comment, please do!

We thought to qualify for a series trophy we should complete a minimum of 5 out of 9 races, unless injury stops you!!
If we chip in £2 entrance per meet  to our own rad fund perhaps we can get some plates made up similar to MK 06 plates

Also we need to clarify "Old School" as some people think just being over 30 is enough!!!

1" Headtube
20" wheels
cantilever brakes
No chains allowed unless your name is Tony >:D
Full Face helmets, gloves, long sleeves!!! (we have been allowed at certain tracks to use open face lids, but we dont want to push our luck!! Lee

Please add your names and comments.

Great stuff,I was thinking about this earlier, there was a few last year IRC,but if these fellas came on board as well it would be awesome....add to that the MK meet (ala Moschops suggestion) why not make an EA V South Old school challenge, either adding the points to the overalls or making a seperate Old School challenge........Proper BMX how it was then(in some respects, how it should be now).

Guys,

sounds like fun to me. I know we could put up some prizes for an old skool race at the hayes events..I have also had some juicy old skool kit donated from Rob Stobart, some old ASR kit and some other clothing, the ASR stuff looks brand new, we could auction it off.. No doubt we could throw a crate of beer in for the winner or Relentless. Sure we can make it a good day all round.

Why not think of going to Bournemouth in May as part of your old skool series, I know Geoff Routledge would love to see you guys down there if u think Norwich is a bit much for you, or Andover is closer by about 40 miles and more OS track friendly.

worth looking into them options, I fancy bournmouth but a couple of riders said its a bit far!! as is norwich. I say they are wusses who need to get up earlier >:D

And the last race being a fun event with raffles and prizes sounds like the best idea.
