SUMMER OLD SCHOOL SERIES SOUTH EAST...IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS
« on: February 28, 2007, 11:06 PM »
Ok radsters, as you know we have managed to organise a few old school gates within club races at Daggers and Braintree.

I think theres enough of us interested to run a summer series using both tracks, details need to be discussed with both clubs as nothing is certain. I would like to get an idea of who would support a summer series if we get it organised?

Can you stick your names down, I will add them to this list then we have a good idea of how many we can expect to race.

If anyone from badbmx or braintree committee are reading this can you add your comments as well. Thanks guys

A summer of Radness unlimited is coming!!!!

Stick me down please Tony!!

Also as Club Secretary for BADBMX I'll discuss with the committee at the next meeting on Mon 5th Mar, but as most of us are Old schoolers on the Daggers committee anyway I'm sure we'lll be more than happy to support the series.

Your more than welcome, it kicks off at 19:30 at the BULL PUB in Nham (The Pub on the roundabout right by the track).

We'll have a proper chat about it Sun.

couldn't you include Hersden as well. Then you'd all get to sample the best old school track in the world and we'd get to ride the bigger tracks like Daggers as well.  :daumenhoch:

Sam, if we only race once a month we wont improve much, I thought every two weeks might be more of a challange, If we have 10 races over 5 months it will be something to really go for!!

But any other ideas please chuck em in the pot for discussion.

Flaz I will see you Sunday mate to chat about sponsership, I dont have a clue what it will cost, but it wont be fortunes unless the series winner gets a gold plated hutch!!!!!!

wow, thats a busy schedule!!! gonna take some planning. Piggybacking would be a good idea because everything is in place at the track, We do need to try and keep to Sundays as its the most popular day with most of us, what with work and travel makes other days hard to attend!
I also think it is more enjoyable when theres loads of people about taking the P#ss

Tone, why is my name not on the list?

Do you really think you needed to ask me?

I was gutted to hear that this Sunday's race was the last.

I'm deffo in.

We should do the Braintree Rad Team and tour the country for race meets!  :daumenhoch:

We should even invest in a nice old van to customise!

Sorry Jim, I thought it was only right for you to have the benifit of chickening out!!!!! >:D

I like the idea of doing a few meets up and down the country, Im prepared to stick a tow bar on my van and pull the bikes on the trailer, then the rest of you tarts can go in the cars!!!

I think we need to get race licenses though, at the moment we are racing on club days, if we step upto regionals we will probably have to be insured and licenced. Perhaps the Bad boys will know!!!

I am well up for a summer series and starting the Braintree RAD racing team.
It will be a real shame if we can't carry on racing on a Sunday, as each month the turn out is getting bigger and better.  I dont think we would get half as many riders in the old school class if there was only racing during the week.

Lee, thats why we want to sort out an old school series! Braintree and daggers are happy with us racing on their club days but they will be mid week, so unless your round the corner from the track we will struggle with getting there. Sam and me were talking about just renting the tracks out on a sunday if we cant do it any other way!!!

I'll find out about licences & ins if we go the regional route. But think we can race as novices without them.

We should even invest in a nice old van to customise!

Can we paint it Camo and grow Handle bar moustaches like the OM? All we need is the school bus
