Raleigh Aero Pro Build
« on: February 19, 2007, 07:27 PM »
I picked the frame forks and bars up from Steve P at the weekend and this is the build so far. Just waiting for a couple of bits to arrive before I can finish it but I thought I'd show you the progress so far. The only things that won't be original are the tires and the brakes.

Waited for about 3 years to get an Aero Pro and then went and bought two within a week. This one may be for sale after it's built but I'll wait and see what i feel like when it's finished.

i like them like that!!!

the team colour model aint so nice though
bitd that was the shitty catalogue model with the comedy mag wheels (aswell as the team riders' bikes - that you did NOT see on the streets)

but the chrome one was a great bike. best wheels in old school bmx and all good components. waffer theen rear drops though!

Looking good Si and good to meet you last weekend ... I reckon you'll keep that once you've ridden it  :daumenhoch:

best wheels in old school bmx and all good components

I've still got the wheels and loads of other nice AP parts if anyone's looking  :)

it's the same frame but not the same bike!!!
it reminds me of the real cheap ones - especially with the chainringguard thing
and tuffs don't make a race bike, for me.

only my opinion though!!! they are still nice, but the chrome one is soooo much nicer.
bit like a 1.4s pug 205 compared to a 1.9 gti.

I have to be honest i built it up quickly with some new parts on there and it looked crap. That kind of jaded me a bit so I stripped it down and rebuilt it with more standard parts. I was putting the brakes on tonight and thinking that this would be a great looking bike after it's finished. I don't know whether to sell it or not. I'll see what i feel like when it's finished and also wait to see what my other one turns up like.

I just got my old set back from wolfy tonight. Another top wheel build.

The chrome pro is almost finished now. Just need to put on the chain and adjust the brakes.
