are the obove any more or less desireable than redline 400,s and are the worth renovating (value wise) can anyone put a ball park figure on value please(rider and renovated condition prices?)

They are identical as Sugino made them both. Only difference is that arms are either stamped 'Sugino' or 'Redline'

In terms of value I would guess that the Redline stamped ones will fetch more

Gut feeling for unrestored £75-£100 and for restored prob £150+

Biagio sells restored Redline 400's for £299 I think with the BB

I thought Sugino stamped 400s were more desirable as they are much much rarer  ???

They were made before redlines... 6 spline spindal i think... it then changed to a square spindal to cut costs... When Redline approached them in 81? Sugino stamped the cranks they were already making REDLINE ...  Sugino stamped 180s were used on the Laserlite with Suntour XCIIs

Yup great cranks, I'd say worth a bit more than 150 unrestored especially if they are complete with the bb and spindle.

The Redline Carrera II also had 400's, but of course redline stamped, basically a buget version if you will have 401's, but I like them anyway.

any one know where you can get the sugino decal from for these 400's as i have a pair that need this. don't really want to put a redline one on. again i would say rarer than redline stamped 400's.
cracking quality

I agree, Sugino stamped rarer  but not as desirable as the Redline which will always tend to make the bigger money IMHO

Great cranks though, I raced on a set for 4 years and never had a single problem with them
