What frames are these?
« on: February 14, 2007, 07:46 PM »
I took these pics last night, can you guess what frames they are? (they're not Aubun!). Only the true Mid school will know!

If it helps, they were made in the UK and these are 2 of the total of 3 ever made. The 3rd was chrome back end, anodised black front end and got nicked in Australia.

You are close with the Steve Geal. One of the Zimma team riders was Geoff Cain, who went on to build and ride these bikes. I guess you could call them prototypes as they never went into production but he did intended to make more, he just never got round to it.

I remember Geoff, he went to live in the States didn't he? Or have i got him mixed up with someone else? Never seen those frames before though, obviously from the 'over-building' period!Cool though!

Yep, Geoff went to work at WAL for a while in the mid 90s. He stayed in the US for a good few years but is back here now

na, they are both Geoffs. I went to see him last night. He has got loads of cool stuff around his house. Check out the prolite pics in "Freestyle". Ive still got a few more pics to post too.

Funny you say that YGT, there were about 5 pairs of milky bars up in the garage roof, next to one of these frames. Cool that you had a pair. They had little gussets under the bends, right?

I think I have some footage of Geoff riding one of these at a BCR comp?  I'll have to dig out the old 8mm tapes sometime.

When you saw Geoff riding that bike he made it look easy. Not at all like the bike was as heavy as it was. I guess that could be said for loads of bikes back then ... but maybe not every rider.

Sainsburys jacket? Thats so funny. I found that in a Sainsburys car park in Exeter and used it as my propper coat for ages.
