Name the Frame
« on: October 13, 2005, 12:28 PM »
Hi all,

Its "Name the Frame" time, Bill stupp's and Co dont spoil the fun, as I know that you know!

Well, Bill kept pestering me to show a piccy of this mid school bike so here it is.  Got it 10 years ago as frame and fork, custom built it with Sun Rhino 48 rims with sealed hubs, 400 series cranks, xposure bars, xposure grind disc, xposure "Rather Large" pegs, comp street tyres and an unusual Shimano canti brake setup.  Super strong with a weight to match for fat B******s and in almost mint condition.

So................

The frame and fork is...........Hmmmmmmmmmmm........keep guessing??????????

Zima?
Forks DO look like the WAL Riot ones, but I didn't think they came with any brake mounts.

I had a Riot frame in the early 90s, bought cheap due to a problem with the forks. Apparently unless you ran ACS Boas, which had a good long reach, the brake blocks couldn't reach the rim.

...And if it IS a Zima, it was one made without the integral seatpost.

Have a look at the diameter of that seat post, it`s like a scaffold pole ;)

Its a pity you can`t see behind the bottom bracket as thats a strange old setup too  ;)
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Yep, not unlike a letter 'K'? One stay goes to the BB, the other is joined to it by a small tube but the end goes to the first chainstay. Difficult to describe. I think it wasn copied, but can't remember who by.
