Hersden 2007 Summer Series
« on: February 05, 2007, 07:51 PM »
Assuming there is a summer series this year I was wondering who was going to be racing. It'd be great to see some more faces turn up and become regulars. If it's anything like the last two years old school will be the busiest class for sure.

I'll start by throwing my hat in the ring and announce my full return to fitness so I'm all ready for another season of thrills and spills. Mostly spills  :LolLolLolLol:

I don't think so Simon, I tried to hire a "fat mans suit" and nowhere could I get one THAT big!!   :LolLolLolLol:

I suppose at a push I might ride Hersden this year  :2funny: but I'm suffering the effects of a heavy Xmas and a stressful few months so have piled all my weight back on again but all that could change.  It's only the advancing of age that's my real handicap.  Humps

PS:  I know when the Summer Series dates are!!  :P :P But sworn to secrecy until Friday week.

someone for humps to beat

Thanks Russell.  I was going out in the garage on the exercise bike to improve my fitness after Sunday's pathetic attempt round 'nham where my legs 'fell apart' after the first moto.  But with incentives like this I might not bother!!  Looking forward to banging bars at Hersden now that I've modified the HAWK as my mid-skool ride.  Humps

was going to wait for a bit to post the dates but as your so keen here we go.
rnd 1 mon apr 9th
rnd 2 sun apr 29th
rnd 3 sun may 13th
rnd 4 sat june 9th
rnd 5 sun july 15th
rnd 6 sun aug 12th

these dates are subject to change so please check site nearer the dates.
none of these dates clash with any south region races but a couple clash with the odd e/a or national.cant do much about that but very few of our riders race these so we decided to go ahead.
best 5 rounds from 6 this year so if you have to miss a race its not the end of the world.
please do not ask to have dates changed for holidays, weddings etc.
medals/trophys at the meetings plus the best end of season trophys in the country bar none.you must do 3 meetings to qualify for a trophy.
i'm sure tony will fill you all in on the finer details.this is our 3rd season at hersden so lets hope its another good'un.cheers,justin.

I thought Justin would announce those tonight, these were decided at a heated AGM in the rest room at Royal Mail Canterbury over some tea and coffee and some cheese sarnies.
What Justin didnt mention was that we have earmarked a date in September and one in October in case we lost a meeting or two to bad weather, so we dont have that mad rush we had last August and everyone gets plenty of notice ;D ;D ;D.
Points will be awarded the same as the previous two years, I will confirm all that before racing on Easter Monday.
All RADBMX members are welcome to race OLD SKOOL of course and I hope you all stay injury free .
Plus anybody out there knows of any Cruiser riders that would be interested in Hersden tell them to get down to the track as they were a bit thin on the ground in 2006.

SEE YOU ALL SOON

I was thinking of racing my Custom Aero Pro this year instead of the Robinson. That would mean not taking it that serious though.  :LolLolLolLol:

The thing is though since being restored it's never been ridden and it would be a shame to use it.

Surely you meant "It would be a shame NOT to use it"?  It's a bike after all, it was made to be ridden.

I'm normally of the same point of view Graeme, but this is so minty minty it's untrue and I was thinking of entering it into the show and shine at MK this year. As well as my other Aero Pro.
