A few more names you can add to who rode for the Farnborough Team which I think was called Farnborough Phantoms is,Matty Chilman - Diamond BackNigel Brown - Haro (ex Darren Walsh)Keith Potts
Yup, I finished the mod and won an award for it then Skyway came out with a similar one so bang went my plans of being a bmx tycoon. I think it's still on the bike.I think it was Dave Calister who was in the crash. We did a summer tour of duty with Yes with Steve G, Mike G and Chris L. A fine time at the mercy of 'Cliff' our driver from hell. I've found a ton of images but have no idea how to put them on.
Ha, it was a riot. I remember that whirlwind trip to great Yarmouth to ride in a nightclub to Danny owen singing that BMX boys song, watching it on telly in a pub (they shot it on 16mm film and processed it in time for the evening news) then sleeping in the van all the way home. Then doing it all over again a few weeks later. I'll dig out the Haro. My race inc got nicked from the same garage a couple of years ago. Mike I do remember Colgate. He had a redline with red tuffs and tyres. still cant get my head round the photo thing - I'll have a bash

If I wasn't riding around the street then I was up at the half pipe at Farnborough, in the woods by Tomlinscote School or down at Southsea.

Some awesome riding spots down that way, just off the Maultway on what is now a golf course and some great jumps round the back of the school in the ranges at the top of the hill. I loved that place .
Yeah we must have done. How old would Darren be now. Just trying to work out if he would be in my year at school or older/younger. Yes, the jumps at the Maultway were cool. I remember one really big jump that everyone would do a tabletable off. There was also a track further down which was oppersite Ravenscote school and behind the Tomlinscote playing field. Is this the one you mean? That was a proper track and where I broke my collar bone. I went up there the other week to see if its still there but its all over grown now.

He used to know the Preece brothers really well; I once rode off ther garage roof for a bet . Jon used to teach snowboarding in Andorra (I bumped into him there), no idea what Nick is up to though. I remember the track by the school, the jump I'm thinking of was the huge bombhole at the top of the hill by Tomlinscote in the ranges, I remember getting huge airs out of that . There was also a really great jump close the old convent and hospital near the junction with the Maultway, I think I cleared ten tyres off that jump .
I remember Darren - he was dangerous. I remember him doing a 360 and narrowly missing a small girl head - brilliant! He used to hang out with the heatherside lot (andrew Walsh, Dave Tiny, DAve Shaw) I remember those tyres being stacked too. Like I said Dangerous. Anyone remember Alan Tucker?
