I got a set of MX1000s that are stripped and ready for painting. Im in two minds about removing the quick release levers so I can paint them properly. Its just not going to look as neat when I have to bolt them back on again though. Has anyone tackled this task before? Can the studs be bought does anyone know? Cheers!  :daumenhoch:

if im not mistaken the stud needs a special machine to put them in with.
i supose if you could get a rounded bolt that was short enough. it would look good.

Yep, rounded bolt might be the way to go? Thought it was worth asking anyhow. Thanks for the reply Dordy.  ;)

You used to be able to buy hand riveting tools that were basically two half-spherical 'punches'. You put one in a vice, place the rivet in it along with the items you're riveting together, then place the other half-spherical 'punch' on top and hammer the rivet to a dome shape  :daumenhoch:

Hope that made sense?  :-\

Hi Moose. I know what you're saying and it sounds a viable solution to me. I got a tool here to insert rivits with a hole in like you would find in shoes for the laces to go through. The same principal really but need something a bit more heavy duty and without the hole, lol. I will have a look at some suppliers on the net and let everyone know if I do find something.  :daumenhoch:
