the rest were shite

the first evil dead was good too (directors cut though, not the shitty video release)

i too have been brought up on horror films. i remember watching "the haunting" with my mum when i was really little. (the old black n white one)
i like the haunted house films
the legend of hell house is quite good too.

the best years for horror have passed. there are some real bangers from the 70's that got banned by mary whitehouse. there are lists on the net of banned titles. find them - then download them.

silent hill is quite a good film though. and that's recent

however most recent horror films have a skate rock soundtrack. horror films should just have eerie  music - think "the omen" or "amityville". even "nightmare on elm st" to some extent

I agree mate the 70's was the era for horror 'i sort of liked the ring 'but its defo the music the makes the oldies the best my favourite of all time is the excorcist ragans face still scares the sh#t out of me now
