**BUDGET BUILD** ( A E R O R E F L E X )
« on: April 04, 2007, 10:52 PM »
Okay... be gentle with me...

This is my first foray into non Burner Bmx building.... and before I threw a pile of £££'s at a higher end bike I thought an Aero Reflex would be a good starting point.

I also wanted something I could ride.. and not be too stressed about throwing it around.

Only bits I am gonna change are the Tyres & the brake blocks (although the dia-compe ones are very good  :daumenhoch:)

Thanks go to: (Winnit-Frame & Forks / Stodgy-Brakes / Biagio-Plate& Grips )

Extra special shout out to DEL for the custom Decals... AWESOME!!  :daumenhoch: Brushed Alloy Effect with Black Border... look brilliant in the flesh!!  8)

That's a nice bike beard. What is it about those reflex? cheap as chips but the build quality is top notch. i mean were they the last company in the 80's to do a well made bike and nobody bought them or were they just the first performer knock off allbiet a well made one?

Anyone know the story behind them?

Nice one Dave, you cant beat a good ol' reflex. I like where you put those extra small decals I sent you, I was wondering what you had planned for 'em.  :daumenhoch:

Considering the fact that on average most of my builds have cost £300+

This one weights in as follows...

F&F - £30
Decals - £30
Tuffs - £45
Seat - £9
Seatpost - £2
Brakes - £25
Tyres - £3
Plate&Nos - £20
Grips - £10
Crank - £20
Pedals - £3
Cables - £2
Spider&Chairing - FREE
Stem - £6
Bars - £10

TOTAL - £215...

Not exactly peanuts.. but spread over 18 months and to end up with a one-off bike its not too bad.
Had wanted to keep it to £150 but the decals were worth the extra and the plate was a luxury I could have done without.

A couple of extra pics....

And thanks for the feedback guys...  :daumenhoch:

@orgasmdonor... Bars are just a set of generic high rise bars... similar to the bars found on an Aero Pro dimension wise. £10...  8)

Cheers Dude... I cannot get over the quality of the frame build, the welds are faultless and the whole thing appears really well built.
[though my expectations may be a little blurred by the quailty of the welds on my normal builds..  :D]
