WELDING OF ALI SE RACING FRAMES, HELP!
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:20 AM »
Guys,

I really need help with a welding issue I have.

I am in the throws of re-building, well, saving the life of a pair of SE Racing frames. One PK, one mini.

Now the issue is this, the PK has lost the seat post, and for some reason has a hole ion the main seat post frame bar. I need to have a seat post holder welded on, and the hole filled, although this can be hidden I suppose by a sticker, the old SE Racing loge one, with the wings might do it.

The Mini has a crack in the seat post holder, so needs that making good as well.

Now, I am not planning on throwing these  bits of BMX history away, and I realise that welding, especially on the PK will weaken the whole join, but the bike will not be raced, or given heavy use, I just want to restore her, and cruise around on her in hr former glory. As you can tell this an absolute labour of love.

So, where do you guys come in? Well does anyone know or recommend a welder, Aluminium, who can help me out. I am based in Surrey, but will travel a bit to save these old girls.

Hope you can help lads.

I am sure there is someone on here who does Ripper repairs / replacement seat post tubes etc. Real quality jobs as well by the pics that were shown. Do a search as I cannot remember their name. Someone on here will though
