Spoke lengths - HELP
« on: January 18, 2007, 10:38 AM »
I am rebuilding two sets of wheels but don't know what spoke lengths to get.

One set is a pair of ukais with large flange hubs front and rear.
The second set is a pair of Arayas with a large flange front and small (normal) flange rear.

They will both be the Old School 3 cross style, but have no idea what size spokes to get.

Anbody help?

mucho gracias

48s were 90s only I guess. Not out in the early 80s, old hat in 2000s.

I guess you cant really get a low flange 48 hole hub and the rims are all 20 x 1.75 so its only really one spoke length anyway. Not much of a "chart" there is there?

:daumenhoch:  Jim there is a guy in the US who cuts em to length and they work out about the same as over here if ya get nipples (bout £20 for 72 spokes n nips but he chucks afew spare spokes in incase ;) ) if there's no rush, i am sure somebody in the uk must offer same service but i am a patient man ;)  >:D ::) :LolLolLolLol:

I've always got good answers from Custom Riders on wheel building queries.  As for a 1mm difference in lengths, I wouldn't worry about it. Too long can be cut down, and 1mm too short is no harm, no foul as you'll have way more than 1mm screwed into the nipple....  ;)
