1979 on a Mongoose wire wheel, I saved up from my Saturday job at a butchers and my Mum chipped in too so that I could go over to my local bike shop, Holdsworths`in Welling, and pick up the bike that I`d been drooling over for months that was in the window 

I remember riding it down the high st and nearly going over the handle bars as the coaster brake kicked in

I did snap it exactly where you said, but took it back to shop n got a new chrome frame, didn't go with my blue bars yellow pad set n lester mags
