TUFF II SUNTOUR COASTER HELP?????
« on: January 13, 2007, 06:25 PM »
ive just bought a nos suntour coaster hub for my tuffs.
now i have never had any dealings with coaster brakes before
so i dont really know what im dealing with :-[
im assuming i only need a toothed sprocket is that right?
or do i need a freewheel still?
what i cant understand is the bit that the sprocket would attach
only moves about 1/2" in either direction???
id have thought it should lock turning one way and run free the other
like a freewheel does?
am i missing something?

that sounds aboutr right dwaind, that's your slack. turn it forward and it engages your drive (like a regular freewheel) turn it the other way and it engages your coaster (backpedal) brake. keep the drive in the slack bit when your riding and that's your bit for coasting forward and backwards without the pedals turning.

Looking at the pic, all you need is a sprocket, lockring, and your 5 fixing bolts.
