Depending on the year of the GT (I haven't ridden a 2006 or 7 GT) I would say the following on the two
The GT is a big bike 22" top tube and can take a bit of throwing around. The FMF rides more like a 20" as it has smaller dimensions.
I would say if your over 6' go for the GT if under 6' go for the FMF
I've ridden both at Hartlepool I'm 5' 9" and would prefer to race the FMF but the GT would be better for just riding the streets on.

Adey go for the Haro, it might be a bit more cash but its a LOT more bike, depending on the year GT's came with some duff parts on them (14mm axle wheels and forged cranks) and the FMF are very light which makes me question the strength of them.
Hope this helps?

As Andy says the GT is fine for taller riders. I have a 2004 GT Pro Series 24 and at 6' 2" I have no probs riding it, jumping it and throwing it about a bit.
