So exactly what other stem would you put on it then?  It's 2006 ffs!  lets face it.....1 1/8th ahead is far better and more reliable than an old quill type.

Steady on pickle....that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it!!

The Mk 3 Chopper looks shite with an A-head and V brakes.....I think a 'retro' bike should be just that 'retro'. Sticking an a-head on it will make it look like any other new school bike just with a different paint scheme and we can all do that.

And I've never had a problem with quill stems myself either.

If you want a new school bike, buy a new school bike - simple.

Hey guys...must say that the positive comments are great...especially from some of you "normal" people.  ;D

Just to clear up some of the questions raised:

NO - A Head

NO - V brakes

YES - Chromoly all round. One of my Tange Aero Pro frames is currently in the Far East at the frame makers. They will have to strengthen the rear dropouts to comply with modern day health & safety however.

YES - White Tuffs

YES - £250 is the guide price...fairly certain that it should stick to that as well. With only 500 pieces available, I think thats a good price too.

Cheers,
Dave  :daumenhoch:

Surely you have to ask yourself if it's not going to have Aheadset and V-brakes, what is it going to have? Cheap and nasty quill stem with cheap and nasty calipers?

I don't know about you, but I haven't seen much in the way of quality quill stems or calipers for years? (It's highly likely that I've not been looking in the right places though)  ::)

pointless

there's plenty of original ones about

hopefully the retro bandwagon will depart soon and fook off back to the far east and stop unleashing reproduction wannabe bikes

if raleigh (or whoever is making this) want to do something productive they should rerelease all the old stickers and padsets. they'd probably make more money that way too, instead of these 1 minute wonder fashion bikes that devalue quicker than a pack of rubber johnnys in the vatican

Shame it's got white Tuffs , they don't look any good now with plakky hubs  :idiot2:

I'm wrong I guess thinking that the Team Aero Pro's most high profile rider was Andy Ruffell ?

He rode spoked wheels !  >:D

Dont forget Mike Pardon, he rode white Tuffs.......now a good idea would be to build a frame with new school build quality and geometry in team colours and call it the Mike Pardon Signature series?!?!?!?!?

Use the word Burner and it all kicks off...  ;D

Regarding the headset... the fact that on the last visit to Raleigh I left them a Tange 300 headset may be an indication in the right direction.. but we will see.  ;)

The Team Aero Pro was originally marketed and sold with White Tuffs...  :P

Glad some of you can see the positives in this project and I am sure they will sell...

To everyone else.. if you don't want one... don't buy one..  ::)

I can also tell you that Raleigh are working on a New School Race Bike that I think you will be rather impressed with... Alloy Frame / Chromoly Forks...

Don't forget the Olympics are round the corner...  ;)
