I remember them, in fact in the last month or two the only pair I've seen since about '84 showed up on eBay. Very highly rated back in the day, but I'm not sure if they were the best bars or just the ones to be seen riding.
More sweep, wider than I remembered, and till recently I didn't know they were 4-piece. Thinking about it, though, how WOULD you make these in 2 pieces?

Not sure if this'll work, it's a shortcut from the Vintage BMX board:

Dave Curry plugged em BITD, Mud machine raved about em but sadly they were badly made and bent regularly, you have to get the VDC ones they are copies of...............Pete Quadrophenia has some of those.

Dave Curry was pushing them bitd because they were his bars, Action Zone was Curry's own company. They were the bars of choice for London's hardcore.

I remember being at rom and counting about 30 sets of those AZ bars on about 30 GT Performers... wonder where they all went? I still have the vdc originals - just for the record, they were sh*t too. They cracked at the base (by the stem) the three tubes that met there were in a kind of mitre joint. I rewelded mine about 3 times... total rubbish.

The design was pretty good and ahead of its time, I thought. If a modern version existed I think they'd sell.
