old school frame new skool parts

i'm building a gt pro performer, but want to know if there is any benifit to fitting some new school parts i.e. threadless forks, primo cranks, etc

well, it will probably ride a bit better. you can use better brakes on 1 1/8th forks. better stem too.

Thats about it   :)  cranks for strength and lightness,  decent forks for strength and AD brakes if you choose to get ones with lugs on.  Well worth it for a regular rider  :)
