how do i date a mongoose motomag frame

need to date a motomag frame .how do you sort from serial number

If I remember rightly the first letter is where it was made (C = Chatsworth), next letter is the month and the number is the year.

What is the number?

there are 4 sets of numbers laid out in different directions but hear they are
    CJO      24      345392     BH216PL     and are all under BB

CJO = Chatsworth made Oct 1980 so it is probably a full cro-mo (Either a Team or a Supergoose)

The 345392  is the actual serial number (depending on the order of the numbers that you have quoted)

A pic would help of the frame and the number layout under the BB

The rest 24 and BH216PL is probably a house number and postcode so why not trace the original owner! On second thoughts don't as it might have been nicked BITD!

if it were full chromo on those first gen models  it would have a "T" stamped before / above

the  "CJ0"
