Looptal Ripper finished now for a while
« on: December 03, 2006, 12:02 PM »
This was a long time project and I'm very glad how it turned out.
What you guys think?
Please just say what you like or don't like on the bike  ;)

Part list: Looptail frame powdered in orginal SE baby blue, copy LG (have a orginal now but need to be powdered), Redline 401 flight with Tuf Neck disc and sugino chainwheel, MC rattraps, KMC chain, araya aero's with shimano casette hubs, comp III tires, Dia Compe MX 1000 with shimano DX lever, MX seat, HI headset, SE bar, sharp grips, copy pro neck stem (I have orginal that I will do in gold) DC seatpost clamp, camo pad set (if anyone need a set......email).
PS I'm looking for a Haro color plate in black!

That is sweet as a nut :4_17_5:

If you really wanted me to be very anal, I'd say the sharp grip bar ends would have to be changed for the freestyle ones (never was a fan of the normal ones). But that is just me being a prick, as I love pretty much everything else - particularly the wheels and the seat/post/clamp set-up

I had those grips only at this moment and they look ok for me.
Yes the bar ends look a little weird but they came like that so.......
I think they are mounted correct, weren't they designed to protect your hand?
Never seen the freestyle bar ends...........

Hi

I always thought the grip ends are usually pointing forward at 135 degrees (from TDC) towards the front wheel. This is for protection of the fingers, but more importantly to stop the side of your hand slipping off the bars during racing.

The freestyle ends are round. They are also solid plastic and take knocks etc and can be used for laying the bike down, cowboys etc (they don't rip open like normal grips). The reason they are round is that freestyle (ramps and flatland) was about getting around the bike, taking hands off etc and you didn't want to have things in the way.

Nice ride though, not too sure on the pedals.

J.

There's really nothing to complain about, that's awesome as is. :daumenhoch:
My own personal opinion complaint is the pedals,I never liked those style. Some Hutch Beartraps or Profile pedals would have been my choice, even if they are not era correct.

The only opinion that matters is yours,so take no heed to my words. :daumenhoch:
