Patterson's usually have a machined head tube and bb and the rear dropouts don't look Patterson to me, does it have a US or Euro BB?  Could be a Powerlite?

WoW, looks good.

I have no idea to be honest, but from the serial I would guess as - Patterson, May 1983 and Number 119.

If so it could be a Long, but the drop-outs look wrong for the Long bikes I've seen. Not all Pattersons seem to have a flanged head tube though and other Pattersons do have similar drop outs as yours.

It does look a lot like a Patterson Avalanche to me, but what about the serial - did they make them in 83 - or is the date that I worked out wrong?

I'm pretty sure it's a Patterson but model and year....?

What is the brake bridge like? And does it have support behind the BB? - Pics Please.

I don't think it's a Patterson - didn't the seat stays meet the seat tube more at the side? Also, the rear drop-outs look like Powerlite?

The seat stays don't wrap around the sides, as mentioned - http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=109.0

But look at the dropouts - http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/image86 same P and postioning for P and serial -

http://www.bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/1273 - has flanged head tube though.

oh, and it is a powerlite like moose says. i can't tell you which model, but with them dropouts it's a powerlite for sure.

only one i can find for you is this

but it's not clear. but it's the flat top to the dropouts that says powerlite.

It looks like one of the early Patterson frames when they moved from the machines head tube to the latrer type smooth head tube - most likely to be a small or mini frame as the larger oned didnt have such a long seat tube

Surely early pattersons would have the distinctive seatstays and the older style drop-outs?

Here's a Powerlite with those drops, but it also has a machined headtube....

Some Powerlites - http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/powerlite/

But the height of the seat post tube does not seem high enough.

Lets not forget the font for P, the slight angle of it, and also the position of the serial all seems to be Patterson.

Anyone got a picture of a Powerlite serial? (Surely they would not of been identical)

http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/patterson/1273/4 - has a 7 digit serial (raather than the unknown bike with 6 digits) but maybe they hoped that more would sell! However, the dates and numbers do fit - Feb 1984 and number 165 (follows on from May 1983 and Number 119).

Don't the Patterson PR200's (with that style drop-out) also only have short seat tubes (and of course the distinctive seat stays)?

It's not a Patterson as the headtube is all wrong. The dropouts were also longer than those of the one pictured.

It's a Maximum rare as fook if the top tube is 18.75" it's a XL like mine.

Ray Beard on Vintage is the world encyclopedia on them and has the repro stickers
