un-threaded forks ??
« on: November 28, 2006, 08:45 PM »
In my continued search for a pair of Landing Gear forks, im puzzled about the threaded and un-threaded forks bit. How does the headset tighten without threads on the forks????????????? :uglystupid2: :uglystupid2:

the unthreaded ones are for the later (96 onwards) se frames

the stem slides over the steerer tube and that holds it all tight, in a nutshell

theres still a bolt that goes down the forks to hold the stem on but the stem tightens on the sides rather than a lock nut
