In my continued search for a pair of Landing Gear forks, im puzzled about the threaded and un-threaded forks bit. How does the headset tighten without threads on the forks?

the unthreaded ones are for the later (96 onwards) se frames
the stem slides over the steerer tube and that holds it all tight, in a nutshell

theres still a bolt that goes down the forks to hold the stem on but the stem tightens on the sides rather than a lock nut

yes 1.1/8 threadles new school and 1 inch threaded old school
