Desperatly needed - Candy Red sprayer or powder coater?
« on: November 28, 2006, 12:51 PM »
Any ideas that don't involve sending the frame out of the country?

I really want it to be sweet candy red......

I got mine done at LSN Coatings as per gjs 'post' above. The bloke I spoke to was called Nich - he's pretty helpful, but i'd make it clear exactly what you want. If you mention he did a BMX for me (Matt) in Essex about 6 months ago he should remember the job, it was in Candy Red 2 process (Silver over Red) - I think I paid £45 including removing all of the old stickers and media blasting the old coating off.  They did a good job, perfect colour, the only slight issue was that there is some slight 'pinking' where the colour didn't take under the rear dropouts and under the head tube, but i am happy.

I also know that there is no paint code for Candy Red, well C4 labs in the US told me that anyway !

Please PM me if you need any more details, :daumenhoch:

i'll let you all know when i get my heater, i'll spray the frames so you get a more durable finish, if i can do about 4 or more frames the price will be cheaper (about £45 per frame) which includes 6 coates + laquer & a nice candy red metallic finish.... hopefully i'll be able to do them over the christmas hols.

Weston, I'd like a frame done candy red, add me to the list if you need 4 to make it a reasonable price.

I'm also open to having another one done candy blue, so if Frosty wants blue............

Will you prep the frame as well?

1 word ..................................................GOOGLE

Very clever answer ...............only problem is here is the answers.....

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&cr=countryUK|countryGB&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=Candy+Red+spray+or+powder+coater&spell=1

Now, you try wading through 'Andy Warhol news 2005' and 'Buffalo Meat suppliers throughout the UK' looking for someone you think might do a good job of your pride and joy  ::) :idiot2:

Marty,

Certainly from the UK got it from the bay. Some months back now, but he did have a few other noice items on at the time too.

I'm still not sure which way to go, so Weston let me know if blue is also an option??
