MX1000 mystery and Flights
« on: November 14, 2006, 03:03 PM »
Hello again,

Mr Rusty would like to know why the majority of MX1000 brake sets have Weinnmann adjusters but the odd few do not. Whats the craic there?

Also whats so good about Flight cranks? Are they worth a small mortgage?

Sorry for my ignorance.

Thanks everyone.

Id never even noticed that before,as for the flights,in their day they were sought after but if youre just looking to get the old school look then you can do it much cheaper.

Thanks for that.

So the ones without (provided they are gen) are the more desirable? I was wondering because I have a black set without the adjusters and thought about authenticity. They have the MX stamped on them and 1000A stamped on both half of both caliper rears. Anything else I should look for? And any idea of value?

Cheers

i dunno anything about desirable it depends on the condidion , personally id rather have the adjusters but these things have been sold to people with more money than sense on ebay for up to £250 for new old stock minty ones

They are actually pretty mint. I`d say 9.5/10 but the red Dia Compe label has faded. Apart from that A1.
