What area do you live in ?
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:

Hockley Electroplaters in Southend done my TA frame and forks, seatpost and redline flight cranks for £70.

Great job but long wait. Make sure you prep the frame first though.

From what I've heard and seen,  it would appear you'd be better off sending your stuff to Vert-Ego so Biagio can send it on to his magic chromers....

Not cheap,  but top class I believe.

Anyone in West London, these guys are good.  They did my new school GT Cruiser Forks and Cranks and will be doing a few more bits for me soon.

Hayes Metal Finishers
1000a, Uxbridge Rd, Hayes, Middlesex UB4 0RL
Tel: 020 8573 1359

They are a bit fiddly to find and their premises are a bit run down it's all the chemicals rotting everything  :LolLolLolLol:.

If anyone wants anything doing I can post photo's of their work and point you in the right direction  :daumenhoch:

I have used two different ones oop north. Castleford chromers and another one I can't remember. Cheap and good job on dodgy parts, but if you are after top job I would suggest preparing the item yourself before sending off.

I have just been following these threads to see if anyone else has good results at a reasonable price from other platers, so far seems inconclusive.

sounds like some of you got ripped off. you paid for a show chrome finish and got your bike just chromed. We do 2 different types through work, industial chrome(just chrome and nowt else) and (if you wnat to call it that) show chrome, layer of copper, a lot of nickel and then a little chrome, one is very expensive but looks the nads when done, the other can be perfect but usually has a bit that is uneven and rough. One time somebody sent some motorbike parts do be chromed, they dissapeared, so i would never have used them. But we did loads of stuff through them, table legs, wire frames and loads of other shop fittings. Show chrome is what it is and that is how you should get it back and that price includes prep work. Stick to the recommended ones, worth it in the end.
