Was a little bored today..... Mongoose Cali'
« on: November 07, 2006, 04:35 PM »
The last thing i was thinking of today was building my Cali' up.  Then my mind wandered.
The chrome wheels will be replaced soon enough with a set of white Skyways. Managed to find a set of original Pro class bars. A few other bits 'n' pieces and here it is. What do you think ?  :)

I'm a major Tuff wheels fan and have them on all my bikes. But mate that looks perfect as it stands. I'd leave it.  :daumenhoch:

Wow. It's nice getting feedback on builds, and constructive opinions.  :daumenhoch:
Guess i'll be leaning towards keeping the spokes then.  ;) Won't be these cheap ones tho. What do you think i should be finishing her off with? Should i go for a set of Pro class rims, as original spec? Or a set of chrome Araya's?
You're right about the padset Oberon', the postman left me a couple of packages that morning. Beartrap headset and Ame tri's from Biaggio, and a set of Mongoose pads from Emma,,, big thanx to the two of them.  :daumenhoch:  Too much of a temptation  :LolLolLolLol:. Before i knew it i was tightening the last nut up on the build.  >:D    G.

Yeah, she turned out a beaut' thanx Scott  :daumenhoch:. I've still got the Pro class disc sat here. I just couldn't find a chainring that suited the black disc. I think i may strip and highly polish the Pro disc and sort a nice black chainring instead. It's a work in progress tho. Bits 'n' pieces will be changed. I'd promised myself it'd be my winter project, lol.

Supergoose III,,, mmm nice  :daumenhoch:.  Good luck with the build m8. I was lucky as far as original parts go.   The only things i'm missing from original spec off an '84 Cali' is a set of Pro class wheels. I've all the original parts sat here slowly being tarted up to go back onto her. Pro class brakes, aero saddle, hinged mx seatclamp, Mongoose crank and Sr pedals. some will get used some won't. Have to see how it goes.   :)
