Anyone know how many generations were made in 1" threaded? (Not taiwan)
I think I have an absolute first gen set allong with a second gen set.

But i have never really seen any real documentaion on these forks

Let's see a pic...Fuzzynod Mark has a genuine set of SE made superforks on his condor, so we'll be able to check from that...have a look in the museum to cross reference...

Are you sure that fuzzynod has super forks? as in the museum it shows just regular hoffman forks.

Don't know - i thought they were still called superforks...check with Fuzzynod (mark)...he'll know for sure.

i've got a threaded set on my Taj, some pics in museum, i can get better pics if needed

i think the variations were mainly about the peg mounting bosses, some had threaded while others like mine had a hole in the rear you put a bolt through, i think mine were the last version of threaed superforks before inch-Ahead (which were cheaper as they were easier to make)

The 2 sets I have are like this :
1" threaded with a stem with no logo - and has a large black nut that screws ontop of the stem (and peg mounts with removable threads and bolts)
1" threaded with a stem with with logo - and has a large bolt that screws down inside the fork (and peg mounts with removable threads and bolts)

mine sound the same as the second pair you describe

i think these are Taiwan made, the last before Ahead $:-\$

mine still have the stickers on too, in case you needed a good pic of those

My Superforks are Taiwan made......They are 1" threadless with peg bosses and have the blue Superfork decals on them. I've given them hell over the years and they are still in top condition.

mine ait the same as either of those, they are obviously the US made Superforks

mine are the first versions made in Taiwan & the last threaded Superforks
big silver top bolt like the second generation ones you have but the peg mount is right at the bottom & has no thread, you need to put a bolt through from the back

Based on my experiences with taiwan, I am guesing the easiest way to tell the origin is by looking at the curve on the fork leg to the headtube.
Taiwanese forks (especially at this time) always used a large curve to allow max tire sizes (and most probably 31.89mm fork leg tubing) where as us made hoffman forks were less sharp bends and 29mm tubing.

1" Ahead Superforks were around during the US/Taiwan move. Mine were US, looked the same as Showtimes. My stem had the Bomber logo on it, the Taiwanese ones I believe had the more common HB stamp and also the two pinch bolts run the same way on US and in opposing directions on the Taiwan models.

thats got me wondering again, i never even considered the stamped logo

in that case mine are unstamped & have both stem pinch bolts going in same direction so they are likely to be USA made now $:-\$

i know my frames definitely USA made, be nice to think the forks are too

how can u tell the difference from se models,ramp room ,and tai bikes
is it se on serial number on first model. rear or bb stamp on ramp room and curved chain stay suport and hb stamp in gusset on tai.

Off the top of my head, I would say all mk1s were SE for sure and I'm pretty confident that the next version with the steeper headtube were SE also. Next version with the big gusset and revised seattube/chainstay area were ramproom if unstamped and Taiwan if stamped. Thereafter its Taiwan all the way.

I recall having to wait a long time before my 2nd Condor (ramproom model) turned up due to Mats slightly odd way of manufacturing/stock buying... Everything with was done in runs of 50; so if you missed the particular run for your bike you had to wait until everything else was made first. But Mat was skint and each run was funded by the sale of the last so I suppose there was no other way. I was happy to wait really

SE made frames have a serial number on the dropouts (big daddys start with B"
Ramp room frames started to put gussets on their frames (start/mid production) , i dont think they had serials on (not sure on this) . I doubt any serials had a letter at the start like the SE made frames.
Taiwan frames have an HB logo stamped in the gusset.

During the cross over from ramp room to taiwan, we saw alot of old us stock being mixed with taiwan stuff for a good year.
