Spray Paint & Oven Baked Advice?
« on: November 01, 2006, 03:50 PM »
I have 2 - 1litre tins of 2pack Candy apple Red that have been in storage for a year:

1) Is there a shelf life to paint?

2) I can get these made up into spray tins, but does 2 pack paint need to be oven baked or is that just something the pros do to speed up the painting process (i.e does it change the way the paint drys/adheres)?

Cheers
Dan

do not use two pack paint without the proper breathing apparatus, it contains isocyanates, (cyanide)

not good stuff fella....well not to breathe in anyway

as i spray cars i'll let you know, the low bake oven speeds up the drying time to get a better finish & also give you time to repaint incase of paint reaction, the paint will need a serious stirr if its been shelved a while, i should be opening a new paint shop december/january time for anyone interested, im just collecting my work together to put on myspace so you can get a sample of things ive done, i know ive had alot of interest on here in the past
