on old metal ( not alloy) hubbed skyways , the free wheel looks like a cassette type affair as the freewheel seems to be in the hub, where do i get a sprocket for it ?

Cant be sure rich, but wernt they the Dx type sprocket? and Im sure they were interchangable!!!

Yea looks like that type of affair , sprocket/cog just slots into the grooves on the freewheel thing already part of the hub, but where to get that type of sprocket ? freewheel ?

Hate to say it, but a bike shop that sells road stuff and old Raliegh gear. It should be the same as a cog from a three speed Sturmey Archer hub if my memory serves me right

I have just bought one off the bay, a Skyway original. you get a cover? the sprocket with three pegs on it and a circlip.

I also need some info though on the bits needed to complete a tuff wheel I have just got too. It is a coaster hub, original, but has no spindle or coaster gear attached to it. Can I buy what I need to make it operational again or do I need to buy a new hub and install?

this looks do able

just checked the coaster hub (shimano) for a spooky wheel i have,

and compared it to the tuff on JG,s redline

They use the same sprocket, should be three small notches on the body and three matching ones on the sprocket. I might have one kicking around in the shed, I'll have a look but it might be a 17t though. It's part no. 6 on the other thread showing the suntour coaster bits

I think somewhere like Moore Bros in Isleworth or Stow's in Slough would be a good place to start if you're in West London or close by

had massive problems with a similar issue, had the freewheel cog but not the spacer.

Had some fabricated and got three left. If you find out that the sturmey one fits let me know please.

There seem to have been a few tuffs (minus the cog and spacer) on ebay lately.

The sturmy one does not fit as you can see the freewheel one has the tabs like the dx ones LOL , anyone got a cog lol

It`s a cassete hub not a coaster, the coaster hub is has a much bigger hole on the non drive side

Just looked at that pic above a bit more closely and I recon that thats a freewheel with the outer cog part missing

I'll dig out it and clean up the parts.

I did think that the pegs are from a freewheel of some sorts, there is another peg on the otherside of the one pictured.

Bill, do you know if the part that is still on can be removed without damaging the hub body?

Can I see some thread on the hub body ? If there is some thread on there is should be ok just to unscrew whats left of the freewheel, but I`m not positive that it is a broken freewheel from the pictures, but it looks that way

took a bit of explaining to her but got exactly what i needed wehen it came spot on .

frosty ure missing the outer bit
ie the goldish bit on riche's wheels
you cant remove that bit
unless you change the hub
