Surface rust removal???

Hi ya fellas,

Whats the best way of removing surface rust from chrome so it doesn't damage the plating????

lots here will tell you oxacylic acid.

if its only fine surface rust tho, just use 0000 gauge wire wool and a decent metal polish.

believe it or not modern common rust remover is very good, but raw oxacylic acid can be got a most home stores in the form of decking cleaner/wood bleach

I read foil is also good at cleaning, whether or not I'm not sure.
